5 Month Photo Shoot

Hi Guys, I just wanted to share some pictures from our 5 month photo shoot. What a little man my boy has become. It's hard to believe B will be 6 months old in a week! I'm planning a 6 month birthday party for him. So we'll get him a small gift and have cake and ice cream for family. It should be fun, so I'll post pictures I hope everyone had a great weekend! It's been extremely hot here, so we've been staying in the house for the most part. Please make sure you subscribe and comment!!

Story Time, Little Gym, and more!

Becoming a mom is one of the most rewarding things I have ever done in my life. It can be so hard, everyday you have to wake up and care for this little person. I'm trying to build a routine for our everyday lives, and I'm not one to follow a routine. The past 5 months have flown by, so I know that the next 7 months are going to quickly approaching. I've decided to start filling my weeks with different activities for Baby B and I. So I jumped online and started doing my research. This has become one of my favorite things to do. I love researching different places, stores, toys, and things like that online. It's mostly stuff for the baby, but it makes me so excited! Anyway, back to my point. So I found a few things I wanted to try and that's what we spent the last week doing. Monday we went to Barnes and Noble and had Story Time. They read about 4 or 5 books and at the end gave a coloring sheet. Bobby had such a great time, he loves to stare at different kids. I think he did more staring then listening, but that was fine with me. We colored a picture, that now hangs on our fridge. It was great to have him be around other kids. We have another Story and Music time tomorrow, which I'm really excited about. They say you get to dance around to different kids music, so I know he'll enjoy that. Today we went to the Little Gym for their Bug class. It was babies from 4-10 months old. OMG! He had a blast! I wasn't able to take any pictures because I was doing the activities with him, but I wish I could have. He was smiling at everyone. The room was filled with padded mats, balance beams, uneven bars, balls, and more. They sang different songs, and had the babies doing different exercises. It really was an awesome time, and I'm definitely considering signing Baby B up for the rest of the summer classes. It's a bit pricey, and a little out of the way, but I think it would be really worth it. We had plans to go to the farmers market today, but it was so hot outside. I think it reached 100 degrees. I know it's probably hot everywhere. B ended up falling asleep as soon as we got in the car. Poor little guy was pooped! So we came home, and stayed in the cool air conditioned house. I'm glad that I decided to try these different activities out, and plan on doing ]things weekly. It's so important to have Bobby socialize with other people, and not just me all day.

Here are some pictures from story time, and a couple shots I took the other day. B is able to sit up by  himself for a while, or until he gets distracted. I can sit him on the floor and he will stay sitting up for at least a couple minutes. I'm so proud of him XoXo

Bobby's 5 Month Update!

Baby B is 5 months 1 week old. He's a very energetic little man, and wants to touch everything! He refuses to stay on his back, he's always on his stomach. It looks like he will be crawling soon, you can tell he wants to but can't figure it out. He weighed 13lbs 10oz and was 24 inched long at our last doctors appointment. His weight and height are in the 25th percentile. He wants to eat EVERYTHING! It doesn't matter what it is. He doesn't have any teeth yet, but you can see some white, so I know they will be here sooner then later. He sleeps from about 7pm- 2am then wakes every 2 hours until he's up for the day at 6:30, sometimes earlier. Our pedi suggested starting to sleep train, which I've been trying to research as much as possible. We still swaddle, which we are trying to stop, but it's so hard. I think we really screwed ourselves with swaddling and rocking him to sleep. Those are two hard habits to break, but I know we have to do it  sooner then later. B likes to be held all the time. He won't sit in his swing or bouncy seat for more then 5 minutes without crying. That's also something we're trying to work on. He's not into playing independently, or being left alone. He talks all day long. If you call his name he turns to you. He's so ticklish, he will hysterically laugh, it's so cute. He can sit up by himself if I sit him down and watch him. After a minute or two he usually tips over. I've started teaching him sign language, we do finished, mommy, daddy, milk. He looks at me like I'm crazy, but I really want him to learn. I've read that consistency is what babies need to learn sign language. I gave him the sippy cup for the first time. I put a little prune juice or water in it, and he tries so hard to get a sip. He did okay, and got it a few times. Everyday since I've been giving it to him to try. We are still giving him the Enfamil A.R for his spitting up, but for the past couple of days we've given him Gerber and he's not spitting up half as much as he used to. The A.R. makes him very constipated, so the doctor suggested giving him prunes or prune juice. I finally broke down and let my mother-in-law take him out for a little bit. I was a little uneasy and missed him like crazy, but when he got home he was asleep in his car seat, so he was fine. We plan on having him go with her overnight for my birthday in August. I need to get it together, or my kid will be a teen before his first sleep over. What can I say, I'm an overprotective mama-bear!
*P.S. I'm slacking on taking his 5 month photos, so when I do I'll post them. But here are some random 5 month pictures.

Eating like a champ!

We have been eating solids for a full month and it's going great! I'm probably one of pickiest eaters you'll ever meet. So I've been making an effort to offer B everything, even if I think it's gross! I started doing all the purees myself, and love it. To me, it seems like it's way more cost effective then buying baby food. We skipped over rice cereal, due to the fact that it's not a nutritional as fruits and veggies. So far we have had squash, sweet potato, carrots, bananas, peas, pears, plums, and green beans. I've found green beans and peas to be the hardest to make. The consistency tends to be a little more chunky because of the skins. I make a batch of 1 or 2 different fruits or veggies. Each batch is 1 full ice cube tray frozen, then stored in freezer bags. I've found so much helpful information on www.wholesomebabyfood.com. They tell you everything you need to know about making, storing, and feeding your baby.
Today I was at Target and I was strolling down the baby aisle, and I stopped and was checking out the Ella's Kitchen organic baby food. They had so many wonderful fruit and veggie combinations. I decided to try 2 since I had some trouble getting the right consistency with some of my purees. I picked up spinach, apple, rutabaga, which Bobby loved, and broccoli, pears, peas. They were a little pricey, about $1.79 each, but perfect to stick in your diaper bag, or to give your little one different flavors to try.

Viva La Vegas! Dresses

Bobby and I have decided to have our wedding in Las Vegas. Believe it or not, it was my idea, and I'm so excited about it. I have a really big family, so the guest list could really start getting out of control. So we decided  that I would invite 10 people and he would invite 10 people. It will be a small intimate ceremony and a nice dinner type reception afterwards. So I plan to keep you updated with all the details.

Today I wanted to talk to about the dresses I like. I want something short and white, but with a little bling. These are the dresses that I've liked so far. I still haven't made any appointments to try dresses on. I want to wait a little bit to try and lose a couple pounds. When I go I know I'll try on a couple long ones so I can compare the two style. Having huge boobies it's hard to find dresses that fit you right, I know all of them won't look nice, so I just have to go and try them on.
I think they all are gorgeous but the first on is my favorite! Which one do you like?

Welcome!

Hey Everyone!
I wanted to say hello and welcome to the new home of Sensational Finds. I was having problems with my Wordpress account and decided to move my little blog over to Blogger. Honestly, it's one thousand times easier to use. Wordpress layouts were pretty standard if your like me, and don't know much about web design. So I'm really happy to be starting fresh and hopefully you subscribe and we can get to know each other!

This past weekend was 4th of July. We took Baby B to a friends BBQ, and then the fireworks. I was nervous at first because the fireworks didn't start until 9 o'clock, and they can get quite loud. We decided to be "daring" and risk it all. He's almost 5 months (tomorrow to be exact) so he's getting better being out for long periods of time. I'm happy to say he did great! He loved the fireworks, but wasn't a fan of waiting in between. Every time one would go off he would look up at them. It was so cute, and I'm so glad we decided to go. Here's a couple picture of our day. What did you and your family do this year?
