A Mixed Chicks Daily Hair Care Products
Hi Friends! Today I'm showing you the products use I to get straight healthy hair. Being bi-racial has many ups and downs. For me growing up in an all white household, hair maintenance was a huge issue. My mom never knew how to do my hair. I can remember her asking a women at our church, who was black, to please help her with my hair. I laugh now thinking back to that time but it wasn't fun having wild hair as a little girl. My hair is course and thick. A lot of the mixed ladies I know have really tight curls, my isn't curly, just course.
I wash my hair every 1-2 weeks. Washing your hair too much washes away the oils your hair needs. I've fallen in love with the Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine Shampoo and Conditioner. The Sleek and Shine Shampoo smells nice and leaves my hair feeling clean. I like my hair to be straight but still have volume. I don’t like my hair to look super straight. I used the Head and Shoulders Sleek Shampoo and Conditioner and it made my hair way too flat for my liking. This shampoo is great and I'll be using it for a while.
Luster’s Pink Lotion is something that I’ve used ever since I was little. I do rotate between this and the Olive Oil Lotion, I kind of like the Olive Oil product more. I use this every time to straighten my hair. I wash then blow dry my hair. Then I’ll apply this to each section of hair before I use the flat iron. It helps to smooth out any frizz and makes your hair straight. It can be oily so if you don’t have ethnic hair I would say use with caution.
Olive Oil Oil Sheen- After my
hair is straightened and styled the way that I want it, I spray this over my
entire hair. It leaves my hair looking shiny and healthy. I don’t use it every
day, only when I do my hair after I wash it. But you could use it every day if you
wanted.
any frizz and makes your hair straight. I can be oily so if you don’t have
ethnic hair I would say use with caution.
Flat Iron- This is a must for
anyone! The more expensive the flat iron, the hotter it gets, and the better it
will work. If you have mixed hair like me, you really need a straighter to get
to 400 degrees or higher. I’ve had this one forever and really like it.
Other important things you’ll
need:
Clips- These types of clips are great.
They hold your hair when you’re straightening, but also great to pull your hair
up without messing it up. You can find them at Sally’s Beauty Supply.
A comb is important for getting
all of the knots out. You can use a brush in between, but when washing your
hair you need a comb.
I like these soft curlers that
I brought from Rite Aid. I don’t use them all the time, but when I do it makes
doing my hair in the morning really easy. I sleep with them in and then in the
morning just take them out and my hairs curled.
Also you should try to wrap
your hair every night in a scarf. I don’t have one pictured, but I try to use
it every night. This helps keep your hair straight and you won’t sweat it out
at night time. If I don’t use mine at night, you can see how frizzy my hair get
the next morning. Then I’ll have to wash it sooner, so it’s annoying when I
forget. All I do it bobby pin the curls to my head, then tie the scarf. Simple!
I plan on doing another post
showing start to finish how I do my hair. This post is just to show you the
products I use and what works best for me. If you have any questions please
leave them in the comments!

Happy Mothers Day Friends!
Happy Mothers Day Friends! I'm so happy to be able to celebrate my 2nd Mothers Day as a mother. When I woke up (after Bobby let me sleep in), Bobby had a nice breakfast made and we just enjoyed the day together. I made sure to tell Baby B how happy I was to be his mom. Since my mom passed away, Mothers Day always felt a little empty. Having Baby B has helped fill that void that you can feel, when you loose a parent. I miss my mom everyday she's not here. She was one of the most incredible women I know to this day. Her life was tough (I might have to do another blog post about her), but she managed to be kind, loving and giving. Luckily, Mothers Day doesn't have to be a sad day anymore. I get to celebrate being half the mother she was!
I love all my subscribers and hope you all had a fabulous day!

Confessional Friday!
Hi Friends! I'm back for another Confessional Friday over at Blonde Ambition. Everyone was so sweet, I had a fun time. So I just couldn't resist you ladies!
1. I had jury duty on Tuesday and was selected as juror #1. I was shocked I got picked, but was a little happy inside because I love the First 48. Not to mention I'll be out of work for a week or more, which is always nice.
2. I'm totally loving The Shops at Target especially The Webster. It makes me want to plan a resort vacation, just so I can buy all the pieces. (Especially the flamingo dresses!)
4. I love Bethanny Frankel. I think she's so funny and has really did a great job branding herself. I can't wait to see her talk show this summer. I might just have to read her new book Skinny Dipping
5. I'm this new Revlon Stormy Pink matte lipstick along with my Dr. Pepper chap stick, it's my favorite lip combo right now!
I hope you ladies all had an awesome week, TGIF! What are your plans for the weekend, anything fun planned?

Product Review Blog: The Shops at Target
I'm doing quick product review blog on The Shops at Target. I took pictures of The Shops displays when I went on Sunday. Most of them were end caps and had large signs above there location. I did show you the merchandise that they had, but never told you what I thought.
The quality of the clothes are OK for the price. They're about $35.00 and up. I thought it was a ton of resort wear. It's perfect for a summer vacation, but not everything would work for my everyday style. I only purchased one dress that I didn't take pictures of. The accessories were really nice, I loves how well made the earrings were. The funny thing I saw, was Target is selling the exact same style of earring for half the quality and price. You would think they would make a different style.
The Polka Dog Bakery had the cutest collars and toys. The quality was nice and I think it's a great buy for any pup.
I was kinda disappointed by Privet House. I thought there would have been more items. Everything at my store is pictured below. I really wanted the tray, but I didn't see it (maybe it's online only). I loved the coral color that they've used throughout this line.
This candle smelled amazing! I should have picked it, because it smelled that good.
I plan on going back and seeing if they put out anything else. As well as picking up a few more items.
I would love to know what you purchased, and how you like it!
Today I had my first day as a juror, I can't even believe I got picked. It's exciting and nerve racking, at the same time. Follow me on twitter(@Sensation_Finds), to hear all the details.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope your having an amazing day friends!

Growth and Development of 15 Month Old Baby B
Baby B at 15 month old |
Bobby turned 15 months old today. The growth and development for toddlers varies, this is just what Bobby is doing.
Here are his 15 Month Old Milestones
Here are his 15 Month Old Milestones
Walks and has been walking since he was 11 months old
He’s starting to run fast, but
doesn’t pick up his knees.
It’s hilarious to watch him run
It’s hilarious to watch him run
He drinks from a straw sippy cup,
that I call his "big boy cup"
He says hi, Dada, mama, Didi (for
Diva our Lhasa Apsa), baba, bye bye, juice,
Uh-Oh, Bubba(that's a nickname), Ti Ti (Aunt)
Uh-Oh, Bubba(that's a nickname), Ti Ti (Aunt)
He waves when he says hi or bye
He points to things he wants or
will go pick a book and give it to you to read
He still loves to dance and we have
dance parties daily
He flirts with every woman he sees.
He’s not so fond of men.
He’s a great sleeper. Takes 2 naps
a day, and sleeps from 7pm-7am
He makes the funniest faces and loves
to joke with you
Plays Peek- a- boo with you
He can climb onto the couch and
tries to climb over the gate and out of the bathtub
Here are the not so good things he’s
doing
Throws tantrums if he doesn’t get his way
He’s a very picky eater. He will
spit out anything that isn’t sweet. He loves pb&j.
Not the best listener. He’ll keep
doing something even when told no.
(Trying to work on this one)
(Trying to work on this one)
Hits everyone, especially Diva.
Hates getting his hair washed
He’s such a funny little boy; he has such a great
personality. He’s extremely active and is on the go all the time. At the same
time he’s extremely sweet and when you say “nice nice” he’ll lay his head on
you and give you a hug. He also gives
kisses.
I love being a mom, and I know so many of you will agree that it's a feeling like no other. I just love watching my baby development, it makes me feel like a proud mom, which of course we all are!

Confessional Friday
Happy Friday Friends! Wow, I am so excited for the weekend!
I'm linking up to A Blonde Ambition, this is my very first time linking up to her blog, and I think I like it.
Lets Go!
1. I ate a king size Snickers every day for the past week...I just can't help myself.
2. Every time the receptionist at my job talks, I want to tell her how much I hate her voice. I can't stand when people do a fake baby voice, she sounds like a 5 year old (and not in a good way)
3. I haven't done laundry in a week and Baby B is running extra low on socks
4. I've secretly always wanted blonde hair. Do blondes really have more fun... I'll never know
5. Baby B fell and his nose was bleeding today. Seeing my 15 month old bloody and crying, almost made me pass out. I held it together and he's okay. I gave his an ice pop, just because. This was our 1st toddler accident.
6. I hate taking showers in the morning. I'd rather pour hot coffee in my eyes, then have get out of a warm shower in the morning.
7. I plan on numerous Mango Margaritas on Saturday, in honor of Cinco De Mayo. The hubby and I have a date set. Parents Gone Wild!
Uugh! It feels to get all that out! I hope you guys have an awesome weekend!
The Shops at Target: Debuts May 6th
The Shops at Target is
the newest Target collaboration. They have teamed up with owners of specialty
stores to bring clothes, home decor, candy, doggie goodies, and beauty items.
This is an ongoing partnership that debuts May 6th at all Target stores and online.
Sunday I plan on waking up extra early, packing up Baby B, and hitting the store to see all these items in person. Like the other partnerships you want to get there early, so you can have first pick. We all remember the Mossimo debacle, right?!?
