Saying Goodbye to 2012

**** TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO ENTER THE NEW YEARS GIVEAWAY! BE SURE TO GO ENTER IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY. A $25 AMAZON GC IS THE PRIZE****

Hi friends! I hope your all had an amazing weekend. Since today's New Years Eve and I'm preparing to bring in the New Year with my man, I thought I'd reflect with you guys on this past year!

In 2012...

- I learned that life as a SAHM to a toddler is freakin' hard
- We celebrated our 9th year as a couple, and spent another holiday season together
- We lost our baby Diva. This is a sad subject for me, I love my dog, and hated having to put her down. We miss everyday.
- My relationship with my mom, as well as dad and brother, has grown into something so beautiful. They are my biggest supporters and I love them to death.
- We had an awesome superman 1st birthday party for B and now we're planning #2
- We spent sunny days playing at the park, splashing in the pool, or just taking a walk. We loved being outside, it was a daily routine.
- Baby B started talking and now at 23 months he says full sentences, can count to 10, says his ABC's, and knows his name (can you tell I'm proud)

In 2013...

- We plan on getting married, regardless if it's big or not
- I want to post regularly on my blog as well as social media sites
- Take Bobby to the beach for a family getaway
- I want to learn to be more organized and have a more methodical way of thinking. I watch OrganizedlikeJen on Youtube, and in her daily vlogs she is so methodical. She has a plan for everything and I love that about her. You should check out her videos and blog.
- Of course I have to put in the eat better or take better care of myself.

I love the start of a new year. It's a new chapter to the story of your life, and you can write it however you like. You first need to know what you want, then must think like it's yours. The power of positive thinking is extremely possible, you just have to think about what you want: or how you want your life. I plan using this to my families full advantage!

From my family to yours, we hope your New Years is beautiful and prosperous!

DIY Make Up Tips- Using Eyeshadow as Lip Color

Using eyeshadow to create a new lip color, is just one way you can interchange make up products. Some make up artist do this trick so they save space in their kit. Make Up is a medium which can be used in a number of different ways. Using clear lip gloss, Vaseline, or chap stick along with any eyeshadow you can create your own DIY Lipstick.

I've been experimenting with differeng color using the Coastal Scents 88 Palette. This palette is available on Amazon, but you can use any palette or colors you want. Ulta and Sephora always have a wide selection of palettes and colors. I feel like when I use eyeshadow on my lips it helps the color to stay on longer and make it more opaque. I think I'm going to try to use a L'orel Infalliable Eyeshadow since they have 24hr staying power, I'm curious to see how well they last on the lip.

Here are the steps and some tips!
- Make sure the your lips are hydrated. The powder will make any dry skin appear even dryer, and that is not cute... I know from experience.
- Apply a concealer or foundation over your entire lip. This will help the color to show up and last longer.
- Use a lip brush to get a precise outline. If you don't have a lip brush you can use a clean angled brush.
- I just use my brush or finger directly in the shadow, then apply it to my lip. I think apply the clear gloss to my finger and blend the color together.
- But you could also scrape the shadow off and onto a clean surface, then mix it with the clear gloss until you achieve the desire shade.
- You can try dabbing a small amount of gloss to the center of lips to make your lips appear larger.
- Go bold! You can see what looks good on you and what doesn't, withoutthe risk wasting money.

That's exactly what I did when I saw MAC Rebel. I was intrigued my the purplish tone, but wasn't sure if it would work on me. Once I created a purplish lip color, I loved it. I've went out and got Rebel and I LOVE IT but it's just as easy to use eyeshadow to create a close dupe! Here's a side by side.
From everyday to over the top, you can create a long lasting lip color using eyeshadow you might already have. Just because it's sold as a certain product does not mean it's limited to just that!

My Skincare Routine and Dark Spot Corrector

Proactive is a product that I've used off and on for years. I've never been able to find a product that clears up and even out my skin tone as well as Proactive. Me as well as my skin, tend to get tired of products after a while. But this is one Product I need to make a staple if I want great skin. I have oily, breakout prone skin with some redness. Even if you only have oily skin Proactive will work wonders for you as well. If your unfamiliar with Proactive, its a 3 step system that's used twice a day.
Step 1 is the Cleanser, which has little beads that exfoilate every wash. This helps get rid of dirt and oil, while making my skin super soft. My face always feel so clean after I wash my face
Step 2 is the toner, this is a pretty standard toner. The only positive I have is it doesn't burn.
Step 3 is the Repairing Lotion, this is the lotion that helps treat and prevent any breakouts. It contains benzol proxide which is the only acne product that works on my skin. This is applied to the entire face.
These are the 3 main steps. I use an additional 3 products that are just as important.
First, the Refining Mask. I use it 1-2 per week, it helps absorbs the oil and dry up any breakout. It reminds me of a clay based mask, which is essential for oily skin. You can use the Refining Mask as an overnight spot treatment as well.Even if you don't try Proactive I highly recommend trying this mask.

Second, the Dark Spot Corrector. This is used twice a day after the Repairing Lotion. I didn't believe this would lighten my discoloration, but it did! They haven't gone away, but have been lightened drastically. This product is bomb!
Lastly, the Green Tea Moisturizer. I use this last, after all the other products are absorbed into the skin. I try to wait at least ten minutes before applying moisturizer because layering too many products can make them peel. So make sure its completely absorbed. This is a nice moisturizer, I wouldn't purchase it because there are others out that I like much better.
I think Proactive is a great system, and I highly recommend giving it a try. Proactive has a variety of other great products as well. I would suggest buying from a mall, and staying away from the online "club" Proactive offers. For me, its just easier to buy as I need it and not have them doing monthly debits.

Our Christmas Tree including DIY Ornament Tip

Hi friends! Just when I thought I was back to posting regularly, I had to go drop my tablet in a sink full of water! I thought I was seeing things, like my tablet really couldn't just be sitting in water, It was. Luckily we had insurance and thats why I've been gone for so long. So lets keep our fingers crossed for no more issues!
I love seeing the way people decorate their Christmas tree. I would say our tree is an eclectic style, we have a variety of ornaments and special touches.  One great way to add your own touch is making your own ornaments.

What you do is purchase clear ornaments for any craft store. Stock up now! It's the perfect time since they'll be on sale, you can store them away until next year. Then get any color acrylic paint I will say this, glitter paint sucks! It was clumpy and too opague for what I wanted. Pick at least 3 different colors to give some variety. Now, all you have to do is place paint INSIDE the ornament, swirl it around to coat the entire inside. Beware that the paint will run before drying. You'll have one of a kind balls that give your tree an ecletic look.

I added glitter feathers, branch, pine cones and picture to the more traditional collectible ornaments. I love how our tree reflects our family. It's fun, laid back with a touch of traditional. I love seeing all the new trends this year, but when I look at our tree I see memories and that makes me happy!

I would love to see how you decorated Christmas tree! Leave a comment or tweet me below with your blog link,
