Our Happy Family Gallery Wall

I, like so many others, find the gallery wall to be a great feature to add to any home. This is one feature that I had in our old place, and really wanted to do it again in this apartment. So when we packed up our apartment, and I neatly peeled off my decals and put them on cardboard in hopes that they would be able to re-adhere to the wall. Well, they don't! I had a hot mess on my hands. Everyday a new flower would fall off the wall. It was pretty pathetic. I almost went out and brought spray adhesive, but luckily I didn't have to. We decided to take a trip to IKEA for the Expedite, and my decal was there! 2 years later they're still selling the same exact one. Let that have been Target, they'd be gone the next week! I was so happy to have them stick properly, and add the touch that they once did. Here is the way I did our gallery wall.

:side note:: After seeing the pictures, I think I need to use all matted black frames and add more variety in size. What do you think?

Most of the frames are from Ikea, Marshall's, or Target. The cross candle holder was a gift from my sister.

These are fresh flowers that I think look so pretty. Who doesn't like flower!
Here is the piece that we purchased at Ikea. I said before that we are turning the dining room into the playroom for Baby B. So the bottom rows are all toys are the top is decor stuff, to make it look nice. So far I like the way that it's styled, but I'm sure I'll change it again. As for the room, we have much more planned to make it kid friendly, so be sure to watch out for that post!

Decorating our Apartment Bathroom

I've been slowly trying to decorate each room in our rented 2 bedroom apartment. In our last apartment it felt like each room was decorated, but nothing was complete. So what I've decided to do know is focus on 1 room at a time. This is the first room that is completely finished.
For all of you that rent like we do, it can be challenging to make your apartment feel like home. Even though we can't change flooring or tiling, I tried to make it as home-y as possible. Here is what I did to add our own touch to our tiny apartment bathroom..

I wanted the space to feel clean and light with mostly silver and white accents. The paint is Olympic semi-gloss that I used in our living room. I had enough left over to use in the bathroom. I don't have the name of the color, but it's a grayish-blue.
I found this jewelry holder at Marshall's for $14.99. I was going to make a necklace holder, but when I saw this I like it a lot. I really like that it has a door, but you can still see your jewelry. I even can keep my watch on the shelf.

The mirrored jar is from Marshall's as well it this was on clearance for $5.00. It gives the silver accent I was looking for, and holds all my Bobbie pins and hair ties. The soap dispenser was a gift
I showed you this shelf in a previous post, but this is it completely decorated. I added the friend sign and candle. I also moved some things around. I love adding personal touches to any space.
There's a close-up of the candle. I think it's a really cute decoration.
Another thing that any renter can do it change knob and pulls. That's what I did on the cabinets. I just kept the old ones, just in case my landlord wants them put back on. I found these at Micheal's a while back, and they were on sale for about $5.00

*** Disclosure: I'm about to show you in my cabinets, it's not organized the way that I'd like, but for now this is how I have it***

I do plan on getting matching baskets and adding some type of shelving. I need to figure out exactly where everything will "live"! Not everything has a home yet

These two things are really old, and I've had them forever, but they work well with the space. I love fake flowers, and have them in just about every room!

The shower curtain is a recent purchase from Target and I believe it was around $20.00. The whole bathroom was decorated for about $100 and even though it was completely renovated (which I wish it had been), it's my way of adding the special touch to our apartment.

I hope your having an amazing weekend!

Monogrammed Key Ring Holder

I’ve been loving all things monogrammed. So my newest projects incorporate our monogram. It’s a classic way to customize your home.

We moved into our new apartment a week ago. I’ve been unpacking for the most part, and trying to get everything organized. Here are two projects I’ve completed, for our new home.

This is what you you see as soon as you walk in. I like it, but feel like it looks a little sparse. I think it needs something more. What would you add? I plan on painting soon, but wanted this up to see how I like it.026

Pinterest Your Interests

::Hey everyone visiting from the Sundae Scoop ! Please SUBSCRIBE and COMMENT so I can visit your blog and we can be new friends!! I appreciate everyone for coming by... now back to your regularly scheduled program!!::

I’ve begun a mini obsession with Pinterest, like so many others. I’ve always been the type of girl to rip out pages of magazines. I love to have all my inspiration in one place. I still do this, but now I can store so many of my Internet inspiration online. I absolutely love, the idea! I’ve also found some blogs that I really enjoy reading from clicking on the picture. I’ve planned Baby B’s entire birthday party on Pinterest, plus a back up theme just in case I change my mind. I have so many organizing, decorating, clothing, make up ideas. If you haven’t jumped on the bandwagon, I would highly recommend doing so. It’s given me the motivation to start different DIY projects. I know there is some debate going on, about copying original works. I want to just say, if you are going to Pin or Repin something please make sure the original poster of the picture is getting credit. Especially if something is being sold on Etsy, put the price and where you can buy it. Bloggers work really hard on the crafts that they put up, so it’s only right that they get all the credit.

Here are some of my favorite ideas I’ve pinned. Be sure to follow me on Pinterest so we can share inspiration!

I love the idea of pumpkin "bling" this is one project I've decided to complete and will post about once complete.

I saw this and immediately thought about making this Baby B once he's a little older. This is a great way to use cookie cutters that might not get used that often. Plus I know kids will love it.

These strawberry margarita jell-o shots looks so tasty, and would be great for any party. You could always make non-alcoholic version for a kids party

I've really started to love the yellow and gray color combination. This room is very neutral but has great pops of color. The 3 large framed photos is so nice, and something I hope to do. You should really check out the blog and see for yourself. I love this master bedroom

These shadow boxes are the cutest way to store your little ones clothes that they wore at the hospital or came home in. You can hang them in their room, or make it coordinate with your own room. This is another project I have planned for October, and I can't wait to do it!

I've always save things that have sentimental value and this is a gorgeous way to showcase your little ones clothes that they wore in the hospital or came home in. You can keep it in their room or have it match in your own. There is a full tutorial on how to do this, and this is another project I have planned for this month. This master bedroom screams sophisticated comfort to me! The nice large bed, that's dressed beautifully, the 3 framed photos above the bed, and a beautiful chandelier. This room is perfect, and I would love to make it all mine!

The door wreath made here is simple but chic, and I think that's why I love it so much. The blogger who made this said that all she did was wire the flowers through and then hot glue the painted letters onto the wreath. This will be my DIY project for next week, so look for that post to come.

I hope everyone has an amazing weekend! I've been pretty stressed trying to find a new place. My house is in complete disarray. That mixed with a cruising 8 month old boy, makes for some hectic days! We hope to be moved in the next 2 weeks, so please keep me it your prayers that I can make it that long!!

Wishing You All A Sensational Day

My New Office Nook... I'm in love

This weekend we decided to go to Ikea to decorate a nook area as my office area. Every morning I read my regular DIY and budget decorating blogs that I get tons of inspiration from. I love a comfortable contemporary living space. I want my house apartment to feel lived in, but also have a clean feeling. I don't have a ton of money to spend on furniture or decor so I'm so proud of the way my office turned out. I spent around $300.00 for everything except curtains. This is the first of many more projects to come. All my goodies were purchased at the oh-so fabulous Ikea, some of the little nik-naks I had and just moved to this space. I LOVE having my own little area, a place for just me. Of course Bobby can come in sometimes. I now can browse the web and get inspired to do more with this blog and other ideas I've been thinking of, in style.
