Confessional Friday

Happy Friday Friends! Wow, I am so excited for the weekend!

I'm linking up to A Blonde Ambition, this is my very first time linking up to her blog, and I think I like it.

Lets Go!

1. I ate a king size Snickers every day for the past week...I just can't help myself.

2. Every time the receptionist at my job talks, I want to tell her how much I hate her voice. I can't stand when people do a fake baby voice, she sounds like a 5 year old (and not in a good way)

3. I haven't done laundry in a week and Baby B is running extra low on socks

4. I've secretly always wanted blonde hair. Do blondes really have more fun... I'll never know

5. Baby B fell and his nose was bleeding today. Seeing my 15 month old bloody and crying, almost made me pass out. I held it together and he's okay. I gave his an ice pop, just because. This was our 1st toddler accident.

6. I hate taking showers in the morning. I'd rather pour hot coffee in my eyes, then have get out of a warm shower in the morning.

7. I plan on numerous Mango Margaritas on Saturday, in honor of Cinco De Mayo. The hubby and I have a date set. Parents Gone Wild!

Uugh! It feels to get all that out! I hope you guys have an awesome weekend!

Bobby's Superhero 1st Birthday!

I wanted to share with you all the details of Baby B's Superhero 1st birthday party. We had it at a restaurant near our house, and invited about 20 people. I pleased with the way it turned out. it was my 1st time planning a party like this. There are so many inspirational party decor blogs out there and that's where a ton of my ideas came from. The decorations were DIY for the most part, and cost me no more then $100. I hope you all enjoy the pictures
The cupcake stand was made myself, which I talked about in my  party planning post. The plates and tablecloth were from Walmart, and are still available if your interested. The background is streamers that I hot glued to a project board.

The cupcake toppers I made myself using Picnik. If you'd like to know how message me for details

There is the birthday boy in his shirt that I had made from an Etsy store link here. The hat is made from glitter card stock paper purchased at MMicheal's. The "1" is felt that I cut out and hot glued. Super easy, but he didn't keep it on long!

The cape I made myself and just used a tutorial I found online. I also made one for the kids how came.

The cake was made by my Aunt, how did an amazing job. I think it looks great and was so happy she took the time to do it.

The blue icing dyed everything blue, even his hands! It was so fuuny. But to be honest, he didn't really east the cake! I thought he would love it, but he just liked to play with it. P

The happy birthday boy! We had a great time and it's crazy to think a year has gone by already, butI'm sure all you mommies feel the same way. I can't wait to see how he grows over the next year!

Party Picture Preview!

We had our little mans Superhero Bash this past weekend, and I couldn’t be more please with the way it came out. I’m so thankful for all the friends and family that came to help celebrate a successful year. The photographer we hired was Melonie from Name Your Own Price Photography, and she was wonderful.  She’s just starting her own photography business. If your in the Philadelphia area, I would recommend her for sure. She’s reasonably priced, friendly, professional, and most of takes great pictures. Here a few of the teasers that she shared with us, and I couldn’t wait to show you guys. Once I have all the pictures I’ll be doing a detailed party post.

DIY CUPCAKE STAND plus MORE!

Hi everyone! I hope you had an amazing weekend, because I sure did. I wanted to share 2 projects I've done recently. I saw a couple blog posts where they were making their own cupcake stands, and  decided to give it a whirl! If you want the full tutorial the link will be here. If not, here's the cliffs note version. To start off you will need:
2 large dinner plates (I choice square just because they were red, most people use round. Either one will work)
1 appetizer size plate
2 candle stick holders (1 long & 1 shorter)
Acrylic paint
Strong adhesive

What I did was first paint the candle sticks. Once they're dry take your adhesive and apply a moderate amount to the bottom of the candle stick. Place that same end with the adhesive onto the center of the large dinner plate. I used the longer candle stick on the bottom section and the shorter on the top section. You'll need to allow time for the adhesive to dry, but once it's completely dry your good to go!

I also took this old doctor office picture that was so graciously give to me, and revamped it. If you haven’t guessed by now, I’m kind of obsessed with chevron print. I had to completely take it apart the frame, which was a little annoying, but once it was done, I was really happy. For now I have it in the living room, but I’m not too sure how I like it there. Oh! The curtains are also part of my DIY weekend. I wish I could’ve hung them higher but the ceiling drops down on the one side and I wouldn’t figure out how I could do it. So if anyone knows a way, please let a girl know!

That’s all I have to share! Tomorrow is B’s birthday and then Saturday is his party so I will be sure to have all the details to share.
I hope you all have an amazing Monday!

Birthday Party Progress!

So we are officially in full party planning mode. I haven’t felt this excited about something then since we were about to give birth! I started pinning party ideas months ago, but when I asked Bobby which one he liked he said the Superhero theme. Since Baby B isn’t old enough to know what he likes, we got to pick. I’m sure this will be the last year we get to do that. I’m completely obsessed with anything pink and girly, so if I had a little girl we would so be having a pink party. But I don’t, so the next best thing is a superhero party for my little superman! I’m just starting out in the world of crafting, but so far I’m so proud of everything I’ve made. So here it is! If you have any ideas that you can add, I’d love to hear. I got a ton of inspiration from the Hostess With The Hostess (link here), which has some of the most awesome real life parties I’ve seen.

I found a tutorial online for the cape, which was surprisingly really easy to make. I brought the fabric at Joanne’s and used hem tape to put it together. I did sew a little bit by hand. The hat is made from scrapbook paper. I just brought balls and used the felt to embellish the hat. The sign is just a free printable I found online. It would have cost around 45.00 to buy the hat and cape online, but only cost me about 15.00. What a deal!

I love this #1 decoration. I still need to add more red crepe paper, to make it a little fuller, but so far so good.

These are cupcake wrappers that were free online. If you want the site just let me know.

This is one of the invitations that I enlarged to use as part of the decor. I made this myself, which save me a ton of money

Here’s a closer picture of his birthday hat.

These pom poms are really popular right now. I used the tutorial from the Martha Stewart website. The poms are really cheap to make and add the color I was looking for.

Finally, these are just some of the cupcake toppers we’re going to use. I also made thank you tags but didn't take a picture of those, because there not done yet. So far that’s everything else I’ve made, and I can’t wait to show you the finished out come.
I hope your having a wonderful week!

1st Birthday Goldfish Party Ideas

Baby B is a few days away from turning 7 months, and I have begun searching for birthday party ideas. I'm debating on two themes Go Fish or Sailing. Before I tell you about my ideas, I want to talk about Pinterest. I love this site. I've been able to store all my party ideas in one area and have become obsessed. So make sure you join and follow me. I have my button down below to follow me.
Theme: Goldfish

Invites: Something similar to these
Invite

Location: This is still undecided yet. B's birthday is in February, and that limits the amount of options we have. I like the idea of Little Gym, a local play zone, or our house which would only allow for a limited amount of people.

Colors: Blue, Orange, and White

Decor: I want there to be one main table set up with goldfish center piece. A dessert/candy table. I want to make fish out of paper lanterns. Hang a birthday banner on his highchair, garland made out of pictures from his first year, banner made out of scrap book paper, pom poms in our party color, and goldfish details on everything.

Food: I plan on having a few different food ideas. I saw Goldfish shaped bread and will make sandwiches.  Here's what I've found so far.

Dessert: I would like there to be a smash cake for B. Fish shaped cake pops for everyone else. Cupcake with goldfish details on top. Orange and Blue mini jello cups. I saw a really cute idea of a foreign fish sign with a bowl of Swedish fish (hahah corny, but cute)

Favors: I'm liking the idea of fish shape soap-in-a-bag or a little thing of bubbles with a thank you tag attached

Outfit: There are just the cutest ideas out there, I really like the onesie, bib, and hat combo.
